Tyler Quackenbush

About

I decide what's worth building, then build it, then teach the next 1,500 or so people how to do the same thing with AI.

I'm Tyler Quackenbush. Ten-plus years moving between UX design, project management, and AI-adoption strategy, for a federal contractor and a public university. Most recently, I help design and run the 10-day Pre-Discovery sprints that help win federal contracts, and I manage the training program teaching around 1,500 people to use AI on purpose instead of by accident, starting with AI Foundations. In every role, the job is the same: find what's true, cut the noise, and give the people downstream (leadership, a design team, an end user) something they can act on.

01 · How I Work

Every project starts with a kickoff, and everyone who touches it is in the room, even the person who shows up once and never comes back. Every. Single. Involved party. We walk through the requirements as a group until we agree on the facts, then we make decisions from those facts, together. I borrowed the approach from how solutions architects build a solution, and I keep using it because it works: people who helped define the facts buy into the solution.

I use Claude for research synthesis and first-draft speed, on prototypes and on the training curriculum I manage at Agile Defense. I still make the final call on what ships.

I'll take the boring answer that's right over the clever one that needs a follow-up meeting to explain, every time.

02 · Experience

2021–Present

Senior UX Designer

Agile Defense (formerly Intellibridge)

I move between hands-on design, project management, and AI-program leadership across federal and commercial digital products. I project-managed a 16-week defense data fabric pilot that went live on schedule, help design and run 10-day Pre-Discovery sprints that put working prototypes in front of federal customers before competitors have a proposal, created the Fast Plays workshop toolkit behind them, helped build the TASK Agents that speed up research synthesis, serve as project manager for a 4-person design team, and manage Agile Defense University, the company's AI-native training initiative reaching around 1,500 employees, including AI Foundations.

Lead UX/UI designer on the redesign of a 5,000+ page public university site; helped consolidate 20+ navigation menus and ship a 2FA onboarding flow for 20,000+ users.
